Love of country
I am writing in response to James Mayotte’s recent letter to the editor, titled “Why do Democrats hate the USA?”
That is as ridiculous as someone saying all Republicans are Trump-loving communists. Mr. Mayotte writes many things we disagree with but perhaps his inability to understand that Democrats and Republicans all have had family members who have served and died for the love of this country.
My own husband enlisted and served in Vietnam. He did not wait to be drafted or ask a friendly doctor to say he had bone spurs. He stepped up when duty called. The ultra-right and ultra-left members in this country are the ones who are dividing us.
Perhaps Mr. Mayotte could turn off Fox Entertainment and Truth Social for just one day and tune in to another point of view so he can write a more informed letter to the editor.
