Boise, ID – Larry was born in Charlottesville VA in Dec. 1939. He died peacefully on June 11, 2026 in the Hospice Unit of the VA Hospital in Boise ID. His wife, Claudia, and his daughter, Kerri, were with him when he died.
In his high school years, he worked as a Senate Page Boy in the the U.S. Capitol under the patronage of Senator Styles Bridges. After that, he joined the DC National Guard and then joined the U S Army from 11/ 1958 to 11/1960. There, he trained as a radio operator.
He lived in CA from 1968 to 1983. There, he worked for the San Jose Police Department and worked his way up to Sergeant. He was most proud of his time working undercover in the Narcotics Division. His second favorite achievement was being a Training Officer. He became a legend with the nickname “Nails”.
When he lived in Concord NH from 1983 to 2001 he worked in the US Marshals Office.
Larry lived in many places–from the hills of southern VA and TN and at the end of a 2 mile long dirt road in NH to the East End of Boston, the heart of DC and the suburbs of NYC–Fairlawn NJ , San Jose CA and Concord NH. He retired to Boise ID in 2001. Wherever he lived he got along with everybody and made deep friendships.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Claudia, his sons, Larry (and wife Susan)and Terry (and wife Robyn + grand daughter Claire), his daughter Kerri, his sister Jeannie and nieces Belle Harvey, Jen Rix and Sally Brooks.
