Northwood, NH – Julia A. “Judy” Jeffrey passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on July 17, 2026, at the age of 92.
Born on May 30, 1934, in Oklahoma, Judy lived a life centered on family, hard work, laughter and generosity. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph John “Jeff” Jeffrey, her brother and sister-in-law Teddy & Nancy Freas, and her son-in-law Bob McElaney.
Judy was the devoted mother of four children: Michelle Jeffrey, Melinda McElaney, Cyndi Jeffrey, and John Jeffrey. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, their spouses and six great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy and will carry her memory forward.
Throughout her life, Judy wore many hats. She faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher at Freewill Baptist Church in Northwood, where she shared her faith and love with children. She worked as a switchboard operator at Concord Hospital, as office manager of local doctor’s offices, and was an integral part of the family’s mink farm. She also served as President and co-owner of Northwood Oil Company, demonstrating her dedication, strength, and commitment to her family’s business.
Judy found her greatest happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She loved gathering her family together, playing games, trying her luck at the casino, and making sure no one ever left her home hungry. Feeding those she loved was one of the many ways she expressed her love, and her kitchen was always a place of warmth, laughter, and welcome.
She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her generous heart, her strong work ethic, and the countless memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in the family she treasured above all else.
