Barbara J. Bogdon

North Tonawanda, NY – Barbara Bogdon, 87 years old, relative of area residents, passed away on May 23, 2026.

Barbara grew up in North Tonawanda, NY. She lived many years in Jay, ME, where she owned River Oaks Books, selling used and antiquarian books. She and her husband, Nick, retired to Dewey, AZ. In 2023, Barbara returned to North Tonawanda, where she

enjoyed renewing her high school friendships, helping with St. Peter’s Church fish fry dinners, and continuing her multi-skilled crafting. Most of all, she loved living near her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.

Barbara was predeceased by her father, Norman Brownlee; her mother, Margaret Frey; and her stepfather, LaVern Frey. She was also predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Nicholas Bogdon; her son, Michael Moeller; her brother, Richard Brownlee.

Barbara will be missed by her sister, Janet (George) DeVito, of Hopkinton, NH; her nephews, Geoffrey DeVito of Webster, NH, Mark DeVito (Christina Velasco) of San Francisco, CA; and her sister-in-law Sue Brownlee, of North Tonawanda.

Barbara is survived by her son Brian (Laurie) Moeller, of North Tonawanda, and their children: Shaun (Angela) Moeller; Alicia Moeller; Ryan (Ali) Moeller; and Jessica (Andrew) Dybdahl; and her son Steven (Angela) Moeller, of Indiana, and their children: Danielle (Matthew) White; Eric (Jackie) Moeller; and Todd (Sabrina) Moeller. In addition, she is survived by her stepchildren, Kyle Bogdon and Kerry (Bruce) Maxwell of Arizona,15 great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild.

There will be a memorial service at First Congregational Church of Hopkinton on July 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The family requests that memorial donations be sent to Rainie’s Foster Closet, 100 Ridge Road, North Tonawanda, NY 14120, a volunteer non-profit organization providing aid to foster families, founded by Barbara’s granddaughters, Alicia & Jessica.
