Concord, NH – Dale Harrington, 80, of Concord, NH, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026. Born on April 17, 1946, in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of George Harrington and Hilda (Harrington) Demler. He was raised in Western NY and later made Concord, NH his home, where he lived for the past 57 years and proudly raised his family.
Dale lived a remarkable life marked by service, dedication, and love for his family, friends, and his community. Dale graduated from Sweet Home High School in Amherst, New York, before enlisting in the Navy. His time in the military instilled in him a strong sense of duty and discipline that he carried throughout his entire life. Following his service in the Navy, Dale embarked on a career in law enforcement in Concord, New Hampshire. After an accident ended his law enforcement career, Dale transitioned into real estate and later in life, he found fulfillment as a tax preparer.
Dale was deeply committed to his community and gave generously of his time and energy. He remained committed to service by dedicating many years volunteering to support the Friends of the Audi and the Walker Lecture Series in Concord. His passion for staying informed about local happenings reflected his enduring connection to those around him.
A man of many interests, Dale was an avid reader and lifelong learner who loved keeping up with the changing times. Dale cherished time spent with his family and friends. He loved unconditionally and was always there when someone needed him-a testament to his remarkable character.
Dale was always armed with a sharp wit and a quick comeback that could bring laughter to any room with his playful banter. He never ran out of stories to tell, even when you felt you had heard them all, he would have an experience to share for any situation. Every conversation with him was a journey, and every listener was a cherished friend or family member. Dale’s legacy of kindness and dedication will live on through the countless lives he touched.
Above all else, Dale cherished his family. He loved seeing his children and grandchildren grow and never missed an opportunity to cheer them on and let them know just how special they were to him. He will always be remembered for his selfless nature, his family bonds, and the devotion he gave to those he loved. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
Dale is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Phyllis Harrington; his son Kevin, of Dover; his daughter Samantha and her husband Carl, of Concord; and his five beloved grandchildren: Connor, Tyler, Ethan, Emma, and Jaxson; several cousins, and many dear friends who are like family. He was predeceased by his father, mother, and his sister.
There will be no calling hours or a public funeral service. Instead, there will be a celebration of his extraordinary life at the Concord City Auditorium, 2 Prince Street, Concord, NH 03301, on Sunday, August 23, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. It will be an ice cream social, which he would have loved.
