Durham, NC – Jane V. Etheridge, 91, formerly of Concord, Washington, and Henniker, NH, passed peacefully at home on June 22, 2026. Her long life was a tapestry of resilience, generosity, and a spirit that welcomed everyone she met.
After retiring from Osram Sylvania in Hillsboro, NH, Jane stepped into a new chapter that reflected her creativity and her deep appreciation for culture and community. Known affectionately as “Miss Jane” on the Native American powwow circuit, she found profound joy in creating beautifully handcrafted dream catchers.
Jane was born in Millsap, TX to the late Rafael Anguiano and Manuela Valenzuela Anguiano. She is preceded in death by husbands Lloyd Richard Valley Sr. and William Etheridge Jr; daughters Rita Valley Moran and Mary Valley; brothers Ralph Anguiano, Jesse Anguiano, Joe Anguiano, Tony Anguiano, and Victor Anguiano; sisters Nellie Anguiano Garcia, and Rosemary Anguiano Ellis.
She is survived by her daughters Sheri McNamara (Roy) of Concord, NH and Tammy Valley (Donna) of Durham, NC; her sons Lloyd Valley Jr. of Truth or Consequences, NM and Gary Valley Sr. of Henniker, NH; her brothers Lewis Anguiano and Johnny Anguiano; her sisters Mary Aparicio and Alice Syphers; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She leaves behind grandchildren Samantha McNamara of Concord, NH; Gary Valley Jr. (Amanda) of Claremont, NH; Martin Moran of Port Charlotte, FL; and Joey Valley of Albuquerque, NM. Her great grandchildren, Haylee Mae Valley of Claremont, NH, and Margot Nerbonne of Concord, NH, will hear stories of the remarkable woman whose love shaped their family.
