Fresh faces for Sullivan County District
Republicans can take two seats in November, but it will require Herculean efforts from Republicans and Independents in Sullivan County District 8.
We believe we are two fresh faces teaming up to claim the two top seats in the primary.
I, Catherine, have been fighting excessive educational spending for 24 years. I oppose an income tax and would like to see property tax reductions for everyone, especially seniors. RSA 72:39 allows for property tax reductions for seniors, but the income levels are too low. A single person must earn no more than $13,400 and a married couple no more than $20,400 to qualify. Given how high property taxes have become, these thresholds need to be addressed in the next legislative session.
I, Sebastian, am 25 years old, a veteran of the New Hampshire Army National Guard and currently serve as vice chair on the Goshen Select Board. I am running on issues that matter to Sullivan County families including lower taxes, public safety, housing, mental health access, support for veterans and military families and protecting small businesses. I believe the Republican Party needs young voices to attract the next generation of voters.
We came together with a shared passion for doing what is right. We have been going door to door, and the concerns we hear most from voters are the degradation of public schools, excessive spending and lack of accountability. We are working directly with voters and taxpayers.
