Eileen Kelly for lower property taxes
I strongly encourage voters in Bradford, Henniker and Warner wanting lower property taxes to vote for Eileen Kelly. Prior to serving in the NH House of Representatives, Eileen was chief of staff to the Speaker of the House and senior legislative policy assistant for the NH House. She is adamantly opposed to the downshifting of state responsibilities onto the backs of local property taxpayers.
When appropriations by the Legislature are cut, local property taxes go up. A staunch supporter of public education, Eileen opposed Education Freedom Accounts because they divert funds that should be allocated to public schools. Eileen opposed the elimination of the Interest and Dividends Tax, the reduction of the Business Profits Tax and the Business Enterprise Tax, because the resulting drastic reduction in state revenue reduced funding for schools, roads, and police and fire retirement. Unfortunately, those bills passed and shifted the costs onto local communities. If re-elected, Eileen will work to reestablish state funding with the goal of reducing local property taxes.
Eileen has been endorsed by NEA-NH, the largest union of educators in New Hampshire. She sponsored a bill to expand the municipal elderly property tax exemption.
Together with Tony Caplan and Stephanie Payeur, Eileen Kelly will work tirelessly to restore fiscal responsibility and promote legislation that ensures a healthy economy for New Hampshire while easing the property tax burden on its residents.
