Beware of the Trojan Horse

You’re probably trying to figure out what candidates share your vision, so you’ll no doubt read articles, op-ed pieces, letters to the editor and posts on social media. All were good sources in the past but beware of what you read and hear.

The Wall Street Journal published an op-ed piece stating that if the Democrats want to win in November, they will have to avoid democratic-socialist and court the moderate voter. They wrote as the “Third Way.” The article stated that leaning left toward the socialist ideas, universal health care, raising the minimum wage, childcare, fair housing, etc. would turn off the moderate voter and open the door for Republicans.

Look to find out who’s behind the story, you find that there are “Trojan horses.” Right wing PACs, mega donors, health insurers, wall street financiers and dark money bundlers paying for these messages. It’s hard to find out exactly who provided the funds because PACs can fund other PACs with no way to follow the money trail.

The Republicans aren’t taking the middle of the road but bulldozing legislation that hurt the average American. I believe average Americans are tired of the current chaos and are looking for someone to help them with their daily struggles. It’s time for bold action and to reign in the far-right agenda. We have socialist programs, social security, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP. Let’s look at how those programs can be expanded and improved!
