Carleigh Beriont

I am proud to endorse Carleigh Beriont for Congress in New Hampshire’s First District. I have walked and driven miles with Carleigh, and I’ve learned something important: she doesn’t just talk about showing up. She shows up.

We have stood in the trenches of a nurses’ strike, spoken and written about the devastating impact of workplace violence in healthcare, and done the hard, often invisible work of helping feed our food-insecure neighbors.

We’ve heard stories that are heartbreaking and sometimes gut-wrenching. Carleigh doesn’t flinch. She stays. She listens. She asks questions. Then she rolls up her sleeves and helps.

Carleigh is often called a “Happy Warrior” because of her smile, warmth and easygoing demeanor. Those qualities are real. But I’ve seen something else, too: the steely resolve beneath that smile; the fierce determination that emerges when she encounters injustice, suffering, or a problem that cannot be ignored.

Don’t mistake her kindness for softness. Don’t mistake her smile for a lack of grit.

New Hampshire doesn’t need another politician who simply talks about problems. We need someone who will show up, listen and do the work.

I’ve watched Carleigh do exactly that. I am proud to stand with her and support her for Congress. I ask that you vote for Carleigh Beriont on Sept. 8.
