It’s time for change
I am a high school student. When I moved back to the United States after living abroad, I felt discouraged. Seeing Trump as president made me worry that the country was heading in the wrong direction. I didn’t think politicians cared about regular people. Then I went to an event hosted by the Brentwood Democrats, where they introduced new candidates and served amazing tacos. That’s where I met Carleigh Beriont. For the first time since returning, I felt hope.
Carleigh is different. She listens, cares about people and she cares about things that are important to me.
I did a school project on green energy that taught me about renewable energy like solar, wind and geothermal. Carleigh is all about protecting our planet and supports increasing these resources too.
I also care deeply about income inequality. A project I did on homelessness showed me how many families struggle just to get by, and how often people look away instead of helping. Carleigh brings compassion and determination to this issue.
Healthcare is very important to me. I think healthcare is a human right, especially for children and the elderly. Carleigh supports Medicare for All.
If Carleigh is elected, she will get stuff done. She’s really smart and kind and the type of person I want to be like when I grow up. I’m too young to vote, but those of you reading this who are, think about this. When you go into the voting booth, give my generation some hope. Vote for Carleigh Beriont.
