The leader this moment calls for
For half the primary campaign season, I worked as Carleigh Beriont’s campaign manager. My decision to step back was not a change in support, but a personal shift after several years in electoral politics. Since then, I’ve continued volunteering, talking with friends in the district and watching her grassroots movement grow.
I’ve worked up and down the East Coast with many exceptional people, but Carleigh’s integrity and commitment stand above the rest. She leads by listening, rejects dynastic politics, challenges stale ideas and runs a campaign powered by joy and community. She comes to this race as a parent, teacher, union organizer and chair of the Selectboard in Hampton, a purple town. As a principal, she listens carefully and acts with care. It’s been an honor to learn from her.
As a young voter, I’ve heard every cycle called “the most important election of our lifetime.” Our democracy is strained, polarization is rising, families are hurting, costs are climbing and we face the threat of another endless war. What happens in November — and whether Congress is filled with people who serve profit or people — will shape our future. Voters across the country will be watching this race.
