Munford, TN – Captain Craig Stuart Eaton, USAF, Retired, 73, of Munford, Tennessee passed away on August 13, 2026, due to complications of leukemia. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, and Grampy.
Craig Stuart Eaton was born in 1953 in Melrose, Massachusetts to Leslie Towill Eaton and Theodore Stuart Eaton, a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Forces. Craig grew up in several New Hampshire communities, including Derry and Pembroke. He was a graduate of Pembroke Academy, class of 1971. Craig joined the United States Air Force in 1974, serving as an enlisted maintenance/munitions technician. He earned a bachelor’s degree and was commissioned as a 1st lieutenant in 1983 and later achieved the rank of captain. He served at various bases stateside, and also in the United Kingdom, Italy, and Iceland, before honorably retiring from active service in 1994. He subsequently earned two master’s degrees in business and served in the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) in the Department of Defense until his retirement in 2023.
Craig was an avid tennis player, former licensed private pilot, and Goldwing Trike rider, taking as many trips and rides as possible with his wife Jeanne. He enjoyed talking, with anyone who would listen, about his military service, military aircraft, and motorcycles.
Craig is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Jeanne Vallee Eaton, originally of Allenstown, New Hampshire, his high school sweetheart; sons Brandon and Stacey (Meagan), both of Munford; sister Lindsay (Rex) Moore of Newport, Tennessee; brother Scott (Aurore) of Manchester, New Hampshire; and grandchildren William, Chloe, and Wyatt.
SERVICES: A motorcycle procession will take place from the Munford Funeral Home followed by graveside military honors on September 1, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis.
