Salisbury, NH – On Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the age of 76, Sharon G. (Nixon) MacDuffie passed away following a brief battle with cancer.
Born August 13, 1950, in Franklin, NH, Sharon was the daughter of Mary and William Nixon. She graduated from Franklin High School and held several jobs throughout her life, including a brief time at the Tilton Dress Shop. She went on to spend 37 years working at Elektrisola, Inc. Following her retirement, Sharon continued to work with the family business, MacDuffie Construction, where she found great comfort and enjoyment in being able to spend her days working alongside her family.
Family was at the heart of Sharon’s life. She and her beloved husband, Bill Sr., shared 58 loving years together and raised their two sons, William Jr. and David. She cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and took tremendous pride in each of them and their many accomplishments.
A woman of many talents and interests, Sharon enjoyed cooking, spending time with her horse, “Rodeo,” vacationing at the beach with her sisters, and spending countless hours in her garden. Those who knew Sharon will remember her no-nonsense approach to life, her wonderful sense of humor, and, above all, the love she had for her family.
Sharon is survived by her beloved husband, William “Bill” MacDuffie Sr.; her two sons, William MacDuffie Jr. (Sarah) of Salisbury and David MacDuffie (Kim) of Salisbury; her sisters, Susan Grunder (Carl) of Kansas and Winnie Chestnut of FL; and her brother, Bill Nixon (Marsha) of Kansas.
She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, William “Mac” MacDuffie III (Sandy), Alexander MacDuffie (Emily), Nicholas MacDuffie (Kayla), Jacob MacDuffie (Maddie), Brooke MacDuffie (Trevor), Matthew DeRoche, and Colby DeRoche; and two great-grandchildren, William MacDuffie IV and Delaney MacDuffie. She will also be dearly missed by her extended family and many friends.
Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Mary and William Nixon, and her sister, Linda (Nixon) Addison.
In keeping with Sharon’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. In her memory, the family asks that you plant or grow something in your garden that will remind you of Sharon, her love of life, and the friendship you shared with her.
