Candidacy of Carleigh Beriont
For the first time in many years, Carleigh Beriont’s candidacy for Congress has given me a genuine sense of renewed hope — not only confidence in her as an individual, but renewed belief that principled, educated, empathetic and intellectually honest leadership is still possible. Because of this, my support is not only for her as a candidate, but for what I believe her campaign represents and the values it embodies.
Carleigh Beriont received an A from the Integrity Project, a non-partisan “political finance database that grades politicians on their financial and political integrity.”
I have remained politically engaged even as disappointment has gradually turned into cynicism. My hope is that leaders of integrity, such as Carleigh Beriont, can help restore honesty and responsibility to our government — and perhaps even rebuild some measure of my own faith in how this nation is governed.
