Trump’s sinking ship
Trump wants his name on an aircraft carrier. He would like to discard the planned naming of a soon to be launched ship from USS Doris Miller to his own name. President Bone Spur (a draft dodger) has no right to replace his name with that of Seaman Doris Miller, who staffed an anti-aircraft gun during the attack on Pearl Harbor, during World War II, utilized a deck gun and is credited with shooting down at least one Japanese plane and dragging wounded U.S. sailors to safety.
Miller was the first Black service member to receive the Navy Cross, the highest honor given by the Navy. This Trump proposal is another racist act on the part of the Trump administration. No sitting president has ever had a naval ship so named. The only thing that should be named after Trump are the port-a-potties on the DC construction sites he has initiated since this is where his policies and deals end up. He is the quintessential narcissus.
