Undecided voters, even those leaning toward one of her opponents, rarely leave a Carleigh Beriont for Congress event without saying, “You won my vote.” I’ve seen it time and again. Why?
Authenticity!
Carleigh begins her remarks by explaining why she’s in the race and how she developed her platform after hearing from thousands of fellow citizens she’s spent time with over the past 15 months, in all 74 towns in Congressional District 1.
Then she says, “Ask me anything.”
When she gets a question, she says, “Do you want the short answer or the long answer?” Carleigh is spontaneous. She leans forward and looks people in the eye. She clearly and succinctly conveys the depth of her understanding. Not rehearsed, not canned, just open.
Carleigh has deep knowledge of the roots of issues, and (often creative) ideas for solutions.
Her focus is always on us, her fellow citizens who are struggling to provide for ourselves and our families as prices rise and real incomes stagnate.
And it doesn’t stop there. She invites continuing conversation, sharing business cards with her phone number and email address. In Londonderry on Wednesday, I saw her hand out more than a dozen. It’s not for show — she answers all text or phone messages.
