We need Carleigh Beriont in Congress
I am thrilled to see the growing momentum around Carleigh Beriont’s campaign for Congressional District 1. I met Carleigh through our work together on the HATCh Coalition (Hampton Alliance for Thriving Children), focused on making sure families have what they need to support their children during their earliest — and most important — brain-building years. Carleigh’s whole approach is about taking action to make things better for everyone in our communities. She is incredibly smart, hardworking, collaborative and direct — qualities I love to see in a leader.
The fact that a person with this kind of integrity and intelligence wants to represent us in Congress fills me with optimism and gives me hope for our future. Every time I hear Carleigh speak, I learn something new — not just about the complex issues facing us, but about the ways we can actually work together to solve them. One thing we all agree on: more of the same won’t fix this.
Carleigh entered this race without any established name recognition. That takes real courage, and I’m grateful she had it. I also admire her decision to campaign without using social media.
