Medicare for All
In the midst of the several hotly debated topics demanding attention this election season, the concept of a “Medicare for All” type of healthcare insurance is one of the most controversial. Much negative commentary tries to scorn as “woke” or impractically “Democratic Socialist” such an idea. Republicans tend to dismiss it entirely, and many Democrats dance away from it. The senior editor of the report, Alison Galvani, director of the Yale Center for Infectious Disease Modeling and Analysis, writes that “Medicare for All strips out … sources of waste while providing everyone with healthcare, saving over a trillion dollars and 114,000 lives every year.” That sounds like a pretty convincing case, stated by an eminently qualified source. The burden of proof would seem to be on those who oppose such life-saving budget reductions.
Whether you’re choosing your party candidate in the primary, or choosing between a Democrat or Republican in the November election, why on earth would you not support the one most likely to save your money and keep you healthy? And while you’re at it, think about which party has raised your diesel or your heating fuel price by over $2 a gallon, is encouraging you and others not to get vaccinated and is throwing away millions on egotistical architecture.
