Rebecca Harned: Integrity and service
Rebecca Harned and her young son welcomed us to the Sutton community when we bought our house five years ago, one door down from theirs. Rebecca is now running for the NH State Senate District 7 seat; and my wife Jackie Winn and I are convinced that Rebecca will be as fine a public servant as she is a neighbor.
If a community is a hive, Rebecca is a worker bee. Her son is in the Sutton school system, and in spite of a demanding job schedule, Rebecca has volunteered with the PTO at Sutton Central Elementary and helps lead fundraisers at local community events that support students and teachers. She pitches in to maintain local trails and helps with town events.
As a neighbor, Rebecca is ever present to shovel a walkway, share eggs from her chickens or offer sensible ideas about town matters. We are always impressed by how super-organized she is as a single parent, but especially by the truly exemplary thoughtfulness in all of her decisions about her son.
Of most importance to us — in neighbors and political representatives alike — is trustworthiness, fairness, kindness and the ability to listen and engage thoughtfully. Rebecca offers all of that, with the addition of a tremendous work ethic. The residents of District 7 would be fortunate to have her as our voice in the New Hampshire Senate.
