United Therapeutics/Old Anheuser Busch Plant
It has come to my attention through a recent news broadcast that a company identified as United Therapeutics recently purchased the old Anheuser Busch plant in Merrimack. If you aren’t familiar with this company, they are a biotechnology company that creates pharmaceutical treatments for cardiovascular and heart issues.
It is documented that not only do they use pigs in their scientific studies, but they also use non-human primates such as baboons as well as mice, rats and dogs as well. I have already sent an email regarding this to the Governor’s Commission on the Humane Treatment of Animals, and to two of NH Animal Rights Groups regarding this potentially dire situation. This facility is gigantic and could ultimately become a Mecca for the torture and murder of countless animals like what is happening all over the country including Massachusetts, New York, Wisconsin, Illinois, etc.
Growing up and living in New Hampshire for 59 years, I am dismayed and extremely concerned that an organization like this could conduct this type of abhorrent business in a state that cherishes, respects and fosters animals and wildlife from all walks of life and detest the thought of torturing them for big corporations financial gain regardless whether it is revered under the guise of scientific advancement for humanity.
