Anathema
I thank the ever faithful Concord Monitor and its wonderful reporter Emilia Wisniewski for reporting my 9/11 remembrance of events at the Pentagon on the front page of the Monitor’s Sept. 11 edition.
This was a story I had shared with friends and family many times over the past 25 years but it became something I wanted to share now with a wider audience not just because of the 25th anniversary, but because of recent national political commentary advocating abdication of our country’s basic Constitutional constructs such as the Senate, law enforcement, borders and military, replacing it with a “proletariat” of unelected officials who would set social, civic and political rules.
These are the voices of those who attacked us on 9/11. Oppression of the free should be anathema to any American; that a political party is trying to warm up to this movement solely for the sake of obtaining more votes is shameful and an insult to those who have risked and lost their lives in defense of America. I still see the warm faces of my lost; they were loyal to me and I must be loyal to them.
