Vote a straight ticket
The Nov. 3 election is soon upon us and it’s time to take a stand. In normal times, voting a split ticket is an appropriate thing to do. Unfortunately, with Republican control over all three branches of our state government, including the Executive Council, these are not normal times.
We now have a Republican Governor who has defied tradition and nominated a 100% Republican Supreme Court, the Chief Justice of which was just forced to retire due to corruption. We have a Republican majority legislature that gerrymandered districts to maintain control over that body. Meanwhile, the so-called Free Staters maintain a strangle hold over a Republican party too cowed to attempt to negotiate with their Democratic counterparts. It is a Republican Party that rewards big business at the expense of the working people.
We must free ourselves of the abject corruption which we now live with. This is as true in the federal government as it is in the state. I urge all Democrats, Independents and non-MAGA Republicans to elect a straight Democratic ticket. I urge the Governor to wait until after the election to replace the corrupt Republican Chief Justice. There are good people in the Republican Paty but until they stand up to the Free State movement, they no longer represent the general public. We must vote for change.
