Kenneth Joseph Mooney

Tilton, NH – Kenneth Joseph Mooney, 93, died Tuesday, September 15th, 2026, at Concord Hospital in Franklin, NH. He was born on February 8, 1933, in Clifton, NJ, the son of John Mooney and Jane Delong Mooney. He was the husband of Judith Chase Mooney. They were married on July 14th, 2001, in Sarasota, FL.

Ken served in the Army during the Korean war. The skills he learned during that time made him a top notched mechanic. He opened his own Ken Mooney’s Service Garage in Clifton, NJ in 957. There he raised his family with his beloved wife Audrey, who was taken much too soon, May 17th , 1999. Ken found love again with his present wife, Judy.

Ken enjoyed motorcycles and was an avid racer when he was younger. He often took long touring rides with friends and sometimes Audrey. The weather never bothered him, he would ride from NJ to Florida, even in the rain. He was an all-around handyman who could fix cars and just about anything else with a motor, including fabricating his own tools when none were available to fix the imported cars.

After getting married in Sarasota, Ken and Judy settled in NH. There Ken gained another whole family who loved him. Ken’s love for all things with motors grew to include traveling the country with his wife Judy and the Holiday Rambler Group. They traveled together frequently with the group, sometimes spending months at a time on the road all over the US and Canada. Ken who was always willing to lead, served the group as the President of the club for several years. Ken and Judy also enjoyed frequent cruises, often bringing family and friends with them. One of their favorite travel companions was Judy’s beloved niece, Martha, who often accompanied them on cruises and loved to see Ken arrive in the big motorhome.

After deciding it was time to slow down with the motorcycles and motorhome, Ken continued to love shorter road trips traveling to NJ to visit his kids and day trips around NH, where he loved to frequent restaurants.
