Republican tactics and escalating food prices

For those readers still uncertain about whether to vote for John Sununu or Chris Pappas for U.S. Senator, it might be interesting to know that the rapidly escalating food prices that we are all experiencing can be traced, at least in part, to intimidation and deportation of the workers who produce and harvest our food.

The majority of farm workers are of Hispanic origin and are reluctant to go out for fear of encounters with ICE. U.S. citizens are not rushing to fill these positions, jobs that are difficult in the best of circumstances.

Another factor affecting food prices is the escalation in energy costs due to the unresolved war with Iran and the closing of oil shipping lanes. Tariffs also contribute significantly. All of these can be laid at the feet of the Republican administration and representatives. A vote for Mr. Sununu will lead to more of the same. A vote for Mr. Pappas will help to forge a new path forward.
