Israel blocks journalists
Gary Seidner recently asked, “Do we really know what is happening in Gaza.” The answer is a resounding, “No.” You see, Israel, who controls everything going in and out of Gaza, continues to refuse entry to international journalists.
Right after the Oct. 7 attacks, Israel explained it wasn’t safe for journalists as it bombed Gaza mercilessly. Over a year and a half ago, a ceasefire was declared (Jan. 15, 2025). Israel still refuses entry to international journalists — no reason given. If Israel would benefit in any way from international reporting, it would be inviting journalists not blocking them. One can reasonably ask, “What is Israel hiding?”
Mr. Seidner is right in his premise but should put the blame on Israel for the lack of diverse coverage in Gaza and no one else.
