Vote no on tax cap
The recent decision by our (increasingly dubious) New Hampshire Supreme Court allowing a misleading article to appear on our Nov. ballot, has them colluding with the carpetbaggers, A.K.A. Free Staters, in their continuing effort to destroy public education.
First its vouchers for the rich to cover their children’s private and religious school tuition. Now they are trying, again, to put a cap on school spending under the manipulative guise of saving us taxpayers money and lowering our property taxes. In 2025, virtually every city and town rejected this idea. This prompted Republican House Majority Leader Jason Osborne, a diehard Free Stater and ostensibly an advocate of local control to say: “Perhaps, if (local voters) are unwilling to cap themselves, the state will step in and cap local taxes for them.” My, my. Seems Mr. Osborne has gone socialist.
The ballot article will not lower our property taxes. It will further harm public schools, teachers and students alike and continue to avoid the real issue: the abysmal showing of New Hampshire’s support of state funding for public education, embarrassingly we are last in the nation. It continues the “blame the victim” strategy used to deflect from the real culprit’s, Republican legislators who ignore court orders and our constitution, and a colluding governor.
Tis the season of political yard signs. Make your own, simply saying: Vote no to the tax cap. Please vote this article down.
