Good reason to vote
In the past, I have always been registered as undeclared. This year I changed that. Here is why.
As the midterm election draws closer the number of negative ads are increasing. It got me wondering, if the aims and accomplishments of the Republicans are so admirable why do their campaigns have to be based on such negativity. Maggie Goodlander is shown meeting her constituents, while anti-Pappas ads seem to want to make sure you remember he has a husband not a wife (apparently making the assumption that that will affect his job performance). There is name calling in many ads — silver spoon Shaheen, for example.
On a national level our president is incapable of speaking without calling someone a name (besides having said San Diego, being obliterated wouldn’t be all that bad.) And then of course there is the Republican effort to prevent as many people as possible from voting. Nationally they tried to stop mail in ballots, in New Hampshire we stopped students from using student IDs at the polls. We certainly have no problem taking millions of dollars from them each year in college expenses. It seems a bit hypocritical to keep them from voting.
Taking it all in, it appears that if you value our democracy as a government that honors our constitution completely and consistently for everyone. It is time to vote Democratic.
