Contoocook, NH – Judith A. Kidder (née Flood) passed peacefully on September 25 at The Birches in Concord. She was born (December 13, 1941) and raised in Syracuse, New York, which is where she met her husband, Clarke L. Kidder (1943–2025). They moved to Contoocook in 1974.
Judy was known for her charisma and quick-witted candor. Deeply spiritual, she was active in her church, the Hopkinton Lions Club, and numerous other service organizations over the years.
Her creativity and love of nature were evident in the watercolors she painted, gardens she planted, and charities she supported. Hers was a world of vivid colors and bold patterns, both of which she incorporated into her stylish outfits.
In their later years, Judy and her husband explored the country by rail and RV. Her insightful, often humorous accounts of their travels-as well as life in general-and her infectious laugh will be missed.
Judy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Laura M. Kidder and Denis T. Kingston; her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew C. and Kristina (Brierre) Kidder; and her two grandchildren, Dean (20) and Paige (18) Kidder.
A celebration of life service and a reception will take place at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Hopkinton at 1 pm on Saturday, October 31.
