Elections have consequences
Are you happy with the high price of gas and groceries? Are you happy that masked gunmen are ripping apart families and communities and shooting people on the street with impunity, that the Trump family is amassing billions of dollars from corruption while the rest of us struggle to make ends meet, that oligarchs are trying to buy the election and that we are stuck in an endless and unnecessary war in the Middle East?
All those things are the direct result of decisions made by Republicans in Washington, who control all three branches of government. Trump decided to raise tariffs and attack our friendly neighbor, Canada, and Republicans went along. Trump decided to start a pointless war, and Republicans went along. Trump openly grifts his office to make massive amounts of money, and Republicans say nothing. Trump wanted to give unlimited money to his private, masked army (ICE) and Republicans happily agreed. Trump attacks the rule of law, and Republicans cheer him on.
As for the tech oligarchs, like Elon Musk, they are all in on this destruction of our democracy. Musk alone has spent $366 million to try and elect Republicans, and he has given over $91,000 to John Sununu’s campaign. More has come from right-wing, dark-money super PACs funded by oligarchs, but it is impossible to know how much. If he gets elected, who do you think John Sununu will serve, the people of New Hampshire or the oligarchs that bought him?
