Cancer is not a political issue. It’s a human issue

Cancer doesn’t care about your political affiliation, beliefs, income, age, gender or social status. It doesn’t discriminate. It can destroy lives without warning.

Approximately 3,000 people in New Hampshire will die from cancer in 2026. These aren’t strangers. They’re your neighbors, friends, family members and people in your community. Every life lost leaves behind people who love them.

I have cancer. It sucks. I know firsthand the physical, emotional and financial toll this disease takes. Cancer doesn’t just declare war on your body. It shatters families, drains financial resources and steals futures.

Elected officials have the power to create change. Funding lifesaving research, protecting access to affordable, quality healthcare and ensuring access to cancer prevention and early detection services are necessities, not political favors.

Lives hang in the balance every day. We cannot afford to accept empty promises. We must demand action and accountability.

This election, vote for the person, not the party. Visit cancervotes.org to learn where federal candidates stand on legislation affecting cancer research, prevention, treatment, clinical trials and access to quality care.

When the elections are over, our work isn’t! Hold elected officials accountable. What we tolerate, we endorse.
