Don for Concord School Board!
Don Brueggemann, who is running for Concord School Board (CSB) representing Wards 5, 6 and 7, is a thoughtful, level-headed communicator who I believe would bring a valuable perspective to the CSB. Don is fair-minded, approachable and willing to listen.
In my experience, communication with our current CSB representative from Zone B, has been less consistent with reaching out and communicating with her constituents. The CSB needs to do more to open its decision-making process to the community it serves. Residents deserve to feel that their voices are heard and that they have a meaningful role in shaping the decisions that affect their schools and the communities they support.
The current system gives the CSB considerable authority, with limited formal checks and balances. That makes transparency, accountability and open communication especially important. Board members should be willing to ask tough questions, consider differing viewpoints and work independently rather than simply follow party lines or established practices.
I encourage you to visit Don’s website (don4csb.org) and consider whether a change in representation could help create a more open and inclusive CSB. Our community deserves a board that listens, welcomes constructive criticism and gives residents a genuine opportunity to participate in the decisions that shape our schools.
The goal should be a school board that works with the community, not simply on behalf of it.
