Sununu won’t check executive overreach

“What stops one branch of government from becoming too powerful?” That is one of the questions applicants for U.S. citizenship might be asked in order to pass the citizenship test. The answers are 1) checks and balances, and 2) separation of powers.

In an era when the president believes in a government of himself, by himself, and for himself, we need a Senate that understands its responsibility to be a check on the executive branch. I do not trust John Sununu to be a check on Donald Trump’s power grabs. I’ll be voting for Chris Pappas.
