Pembroke, NH – Janet F. Bickford, 89, of Pembroke, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2026 after a period of declining health.
Janet was born on April 26, 1937, in Wiscasset, Maine, the daughter of the late William and Evelyn Seigars of Alna, Maine. She was a resident of Pembroke, NH for almost 70 years.
She started Jan’s Drapery Workshop in the mid-70’s and they made draperies and other home textiles for Ethan Allen in Manchester/Bedford area as well as some local design shops. She and her team were always proud of their creations.
She is predeceased by her husband, Ulmont (Larry) Bickford, Jr. and her daughter, Deborah Boulet.
Janet is survived by her three children: daughter Marjorie Mazur and her husband John of Lady Lake, Florida, son Gary Bickford of Pembroke and step-daughter Roxanne Hall of Concord. She is also survived by her siblings: John Seigars, Maxine Barter and husband Ross, and Robert Seigars. She also leaves behind several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 6th from 11am to noon at Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 172 King Street in Boscawen, NH. She will be interred at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen with her husband at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet’s memory may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.
