‘Kick-Start!” also known as “the shoe show” is a themed art exhibition by the Women’s Caucus for Art’s NH Chapter. “Kick-Start!” opens with an Artists’ Reception on Sept. 11 from 1 to 3 pm at Twiggs Gallery located at 254 King Street in Boscawen. The exhibit runs through Oct. 31.
Shoes are the primary focus of the art and much of the work symbolizes the kick-starting of women’s lives both during and after the COVID-19 lock-down restrictions of the past year. Many of the artists have reflected on the challenges in their lives and the art is a reflection of their resiliency. The shoe theme is expressed in a wide variety of works that include paintings, sculptures, one-of-a kind artist books, small installations, photography, drawings and mixed media pieces.
Participating artists are Paulette Brace, Sue Cannella, Donna Catanzaro, Margaret Femia, Alma Grand, Linda Graham, Linda Greenwood, Cristina Hajosy, Eva Kjellberg-Goldstein, Annette Mitchell, Laura Morrison, Lucy Mueller, Lisa Murphy, Darlene Olivo, Diane Louise Paul, Polly Pierce, Susan Rock, Adele Sanborn, Marcia Santore, Cilla Sheehan, Kimberly Smith, Pamela Smith, Gail Smuda and Martha Stevermer.
