Meghan Jenks presented her undergraduate research at the annual academic excellence conference at Keene State College.

Concord

Alexander Rhodes won first place in the state and second in the country in the SIFMA Foundation’s InvestWrite Competition, an essay competition to demonstrate knowledge of capital markets, stocks, bonds and mutual funds. He was recognized at Concord High School on April 12.

Detective Robert Buelte of the Concord Police Department was honored as the 2016 Police Officer of the Year by the Concord Grange No. 322. The Grange presents awards to individuals in the Concord community for their dedication, commitment, and outstanding abilities in the law enforcement, firefighting and education fields.

The Wowsers team from Concord Christian Academy will compete in the Destination Imagination Global finals in Knoxville, Tenn. Team members include seventh-grader Emma Haddock, sixth-grader Josh Pickard, fifth-grader Kate Laboe, fifth-grader Emily Lamoureux and third-grader Lack Laboe. They will compete with other teams in the technology challenge, In Plain Sight, one of seven, open-ended challenges that require students to apply science, technology, engineering and math skills, in addition to their talents in improvisation, theater arts, writing, project management, communication, innovation, teamwork, community service and social entrepreneurship.
