The psychiatric hospital patient who was the subject of an active search in Concord last week was being held by the authorities on theft and other charges, the New Hampshire State Police said.
On Wednesday, state police notified the Concord area that they were actively searching for Keri Pagnozzi, 43, who was receiving treatment for mental illness at New Hampshire Hospital. She had been transported to Concord Hospital, where she was admitted Tuesday, but later walked out of the facility.
After a five-hour search, she was taken into custody.
State police released information that Pagnozzi had been arrested by Conway Police on August 13 for theft at a local business. She was released on bail but soon made repeated calls to the Conway Police Department that included threats against the officer who arrested her.
Then Pagnozzi was charged with criminal threatening and harassment. On Aug. 20, she was arrested in Bartlett and arraigned in Conway District Court, where a judge ordered her held without bail at the Carroll County Jail.
At the jail, mental health staff became concerned about her condition. Through an emergency motion, her bail was modified, and she was transferred to New Hampshire Hospital on Sept. 3 for psychiatric care.
State Police, Concord Police, the State Office Complex Police Force, and other law enforcement assisted in the search.
