■The Bow Rotary Club is always looking for men and women who want to give back to their community. The Bow Rotary Club includes Bow and Dunbarton residents, and anyone who works in Bow or adjacent towns. Meetings are normally ever Friday morning from 7:15-8:30 a.m. at the Bow Old Town Hall on Bow Center Road. Currently, weekly meetings are held on Zoom. Check bowrotary.org for the meeting schedule and. You can also contact rotary president Matt Gatzke at msgatzke@gmail.com or 496-9044, or email bowrotary@gmail.com.
■The Bow Garden Club recently booked speakers to present their garden programs via Zoom for the first few months of the Garden Club’s year (April-June). The club hopes to be able to offer some type of in-person meeting with a speaker present, however these plans are tentative. Meanwhile, club members are enjoying staying in touch via the club newsletter, which began last April. Members share their gardening tips, book reviews, recipes and other gardening related topics with fellow members.
■The Bow Garden Club welcomes new members and encourages anyone living in the Bow area to become part of the organization. You do not need to be an experienced gardener to join. Garden Club members learn from each and have fun doing it! If you are new to the area, being part of the Garden Club introduces you to a host of people of varying ages and backgrounds who share at least one common thing – the love of gardening. New members may wish to volunteer to help with the club’s ongoing civic beautification projects around town or in other ways (community service, craft projects, etc.) that take place throughout the Garden Club year (April through December). There is something for everyone! Visit bowgardenclub.org or contact membership chair and club president Keryn Anderson at kerynanderson@ericandkerynanderson.com, 856-8563 (home) or 731-6425 (cell) for additional information about the Bow Garden Club.

■The next Virtual Read to Dogs at the library is scheduled for Thursday with Jake and Pat, and March 11 with Lily and Liz. Please call the library to schedule your child’s 15 minutes of virtual reading.
■Supervisors of the Checklist will hold a session for corrections to the checklist at the Town Office on Saturday from 10-10:30 a.m. This is the final date to register to speak or vote at the School District Meeting on March 6. Election day registration will be available at the Town Election on March 9. To check if you are registered in Dunbarton, go to sos.nh.gov.
■“Winter Pantry Soul Warming Recipes: A Virtual Cooking Demonstration with Liz Barbour’s Creative Feast” will be March 4 at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom. Whether you are a seasoned cook or complete novice, creating a meal from what you’ve got on hand is always a challenge. Join Liz for this fun and tasty class. Email the library at dunlib@gsinet.net if you are interested in attending.
■This month the DCC Book Club is reading “Wrestling With Angels” by Rosenblatt & Horowitz. Discussion will be March 4 from 7-8:30 p.m. All are welcome.
■The School District Meeting will be March 6 at the Community Center. There is room for 100 participants seated 6 feet apart. More can be accommodated depending on how large the “pods” are of people sitting together. If more people attend than the Community Center can accommodate, participants will use classrooms in the school that will be linked electronically with real-time video and audio. Attendees in the classrooms will be able to speak to the assembly, make motions to amend articles and vote on each article as it is being considered.
■The Town Election and Town Meeting is scheduled for March 9. Voting will be conducted with the same procedures used during the election last November, with masks and social distancing required for all those in the voting space. Other arrangements will be available for those who have concerns about wearing a mask. For those who do not believe it necessary to wear a mask or believe it is their right not to, please think about the concerns of your fellow town residents and the efforts of your elected officials. Please wear a mask. Each board is also exploring the possibility of streaming each meeting in real time on the web. This would allow anyone to watch the proceedings, but not to comment or vote. State law requires voters be present to check in with the Supervisors of the Checklist in order to speak or vote at the meeting. This check in cannot be done over the internet. Some in town have expressed a health concern about coming to either meeting. That is understandable. We each have our own assessment of how much risk attendance involves and how much risk we are willing to take. Clearly, there is no solution this year that will satisfy every resident’s concerns. The plan developed by the boards is an attempt to be the best compromise in a difficult situation. This appears to be the plan that allows for fullest participation in the meetings, while still providing protection for attendees from exposure to COVID-19. Please check that the above plan for the meetings has not changed before you go. Comments or questions about the structure for this year’s Town and School District Meetings can be addressed to either board or moderator.
