A car crashed into the front of Target in Concord around 5:15 p.m. on Monday evening.
Both the Concord Police Department and Concord Fire Department responded to the scene, where a silver Kia Soul crashed parallel to the sliding entrance/exit doors with its airbags inflated.
It remains unclear how the vehicle ended up in that position.
The single-vehicle accident caused “heavy damage to the vehicle and moderate damage to the building’s entrance area,” according to information from police.
On Tuesday morning, the right set of automatic doors was blocked off with boarding on the outside and caution tape on the inside.
A man was driving the car, with a woman and a child as passengers, according to police. The three people were taken to Concord Hospital to be treated. No one else was hurt at the scene.
“The extent of the injuries to the vehicle occupants is unknown at this time,” the police department shared in a statement on Tuesday.
Target, located at 80 D’Amante Drive, continues to be open to customers. Target’s media relations team did not respond to comment upon request.
