Hollly Kimball Rhines shared the history of the Beech Hill Farm in Hopkinton with the Mercy Hathaway White chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The land was granted by the king of England to the Kimball family. Abraham Kimball, the son of Aaron and Susanna Kimball, was born in Hopkinton on April 18, 1742, being the first male white child born in the township. Rhines’s children are the ninth generation to work on the farm. The DAR chapter will meet again Sept. 14 at 1 p.m. at the Hopkinton Congregational Church hall to learn about the ratification of the Constitution.

The land was granted by the king of England to the Kimball family.  Abraham Kimball, the son of Aaron and Susanna Kimball, was born in Hopkinton on April 18, 1742, being the first male white child born in the township.  In April 1753, Abraham was captured by Native Americans and was able to escape.  In June 1775, he was at the battle of Bunker Hill and in 1777, he marched from Hopkinton in July to join the northern Continental Army.  He was severely wounded at Bennington. Rhines children are the ninth generation to work on the farm. The DAR chapter will meet again Sept. 14 at 1 p.m. at the Hopkinton Congregational Church hall to learn about  the ratification of the Constitution.
