The Common Man Roadside franchise is expanding again, this time on Manchester Street, less than a mile away from their sit-down rerstaurant in Concord.
The fenced-in construction site is adorned with a sign with the company’s logo, annoucing “Here We Grow Again.”.
This latest project will bring Common Man Roadside’s popular market-and-deli concept —paired with a gas station — to the intersection of Black Hill Road and Manchester Street, becoming the brand’s eighth such location.
Brad Pernaw, managing partner of Common Man roadside, said the model is based on the success of the company’s rest-area locations along the I-93 corridor in Hooksett.
“I think we’ve been able to provide travelers, whether that’s visitors or daily commuters,” he said. “We’re a completely different convenience store experience.”

Construction at the Concord site began about three weeks ago, with an opening expected in October. The store is planned to operate daily from 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., while the gas pumps will remain open around the clock.
While the Concord location won’t quite match the scale of the Hooksett welcome center sites, the roughly 6,000-square-foot store is no small operation.
Customers can expect a made-to-order menu featuring pizzas, pastas, salads, and sandwiches, alongside a wide selection of grab-and-go options, Pernaw said.
Inside, the space will feature a living room-style area complete with a television, fireplace, and couches, giving customers a comfortable place to slow down and gather rather than simply dash in and out.
The fuel-and-convenience-store model is already a proven formula for the New Hampshire chain, with existing locations up and running in Epsom, Derry, Manchester, and Portsmouth.
Pernaw said plans include installing electric vehicle chargers at the location.
“We are always looking at new locations and evaluating different opportunities, and it’s certainly a concept that we intend to continue growing,” Pernaw said. “It’s really a beautiful building and a really nice concept.”
