■The 7th annual Summer Institute for Young Writers is happening the weeks of June 24 and Aug. 12. Camp takes place at Maple Street School and runs Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with Friday camp ending at noon. Students entering third-grade through high school are welcome. ■Concord Regional VNA is holding a Senior Health Clinic at Slusser Senior Center on May 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Park Avenue Apartments on May 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All Senior Health Clinic services are provided for a suggested donation of $10, however, services are provided regardless of a person’s ability to pay. ■Girls Scout Troop 10332 hosted World Thinking Day at Maple Street School in Hopkinton New Hampshire from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday. This event was done for all Hopkinton Girl Scout troops and the general public. There were six tables which included Italy, India, China, Greece, Ireland and Mexico. This junior troop has worked really hard at organizing this event. They were able to collect over 70 items for the Hopkinton Food Pantry.
■The Hopkinton Town Library is looking for students (entering 6th grade and up) to apply for internships for the Summer Reading Program. The program runs from July 2 through Aug. 8. There will be a mandatory orientation meeting of all interns on Friday, June 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A commitment of at least five days is required. This experience will count toward experiential credit at the high school. We will provide you with a letter of recommendation upon request, after successful completion of the program. If you would like to receive high school credit, please ask for additional information. We’ll need interns during the following time slots: Tuesdays from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m., Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m., and Fridays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. (Friday programs are held for four of the weeks of the program.) ■Senior lunch at the Slusser Center on Wednesdays at noon at the Slusser Senior Center. Suggested donation of $4. The first time a senior attends a lunch, he or she can ask for a new visitor gift certificate at the front desk, for a free lunch. Menu: turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, peas or string beans, cranberry sauce, cornbread and strawberry shortcake.
■Knitting Group meets Tuesdays from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Bring your own project and materials, and share ideas. This program is free.
