■Ladies of St. Anne will meet on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church. Please note that the day change is only for this month.

■Cribbage Club is held on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. at the Suncook Senior Center.

■Zumba Gold is held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Suncook Senior Center. The cost is $10 per class or $70 for 10.

■Tai Chi Moving Meditation is held on Friday at 9 a.m. at the Suncook Senior Center. The cost is $5 per class.

■The Allenstown Fire Dept. is planning a Blood Drive on May 31 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Allenstown Fire Station, 1 Ferry St. For more information, call 485-4276.

■Sign up early for the Lobster Bake and entertainment by comedian and entertainer Jim Conners at Foster’s in York Maine with the Suncook Senior Center on July 15. The cost is $90 per person with payment due June 15. Call Nancy for details or to sign up at 485-9181.

CHICHESTERSnack shack open

■On Monday, Lovers of the Chichester Library will meet at 7 p.m. in the Community Room. Anyone can stop in and be part of the on-going discussion of the children’s area renovation (which will take place after the June 1 Book Sale) and the re-location of book sections in the Down Under Book Sale area. The sale area is open when the library is open. Presently, vintage books are half-price, sheet music is also available half-price. Library hours are Monday and Wednesday, 2:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

■On Tuesday, selectmen will have two sessions, one from 6 to 6:30 p.m. (workshop) and at 6:30 p.m. the regular session at town hall.

■On Wednesday, the Zoning Board of Adjustment will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at town offices.

■The Old Home Day Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Offices, they are always looking for input from the community.

■The Cemetery Commission will meet Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at town hall.

■Planning Board will hold a workshop Thursday at the fire station at 6:30 p.m.

■On Friday, the library hosts “Color & Coffee” at 3 p.m. Take advantage of a quiet time to catch up on local newspapers, magazines and check the bulletin boards to see what is happening in the area.

■On May 27, the library will be closed for Memorial Day.

■The Chichester Youth Association has an update on Carpenter Park. The crew has done an amazing job to get the playground ready for the summer. They want to thank everyone who helped make Carpenter Park playground equipment a safe space for children. Work should be completed in a few weeks.

■Heather White has done a great job getting the snack shack up and running for this season and coffee, snacks and food will be available during games. Help is needed! Volunteers are needed to run the Snack Shack! Please contact the CYA at chichesteryouthassociation@gmail.com to learn more. The next meeting will be June 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the fire station.

■Today at the Epsom Circle the worn flags will be replaced by some of the Epsom veterans at noon. You can park by Care pharmacy if you would like to attend.

■Select board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. at the town office.

■Planning board will meet Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the town office.

■The movie matinee at the library Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. is Welcome to Marwen. It stars Steve Carell in a dramatic role is he plays a man who, after a devastating attack wiping out his memory, is putting his life back together with pieces from his old and new life.

■“Black Bear Happenings in N.H.” is the program scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. Doug Whitfield, a Wildlife Steward from N.H. Fish and Game will give the presentation and will answer any questions people may have.

■Pittsfield Class of 1984 save Aug. 24 as the 35th Class Reunion at Beaver Meadow Golf Course! If you have moved since the last reunion and have new address, please email rielt397@gmail.com with your current address.

■Youth Fishing Derby will be June 1 in Epsom from 8 to 11 a.m. at 251 Center Hill Road, Epsom. The derby is sponsored by Evergreen Lodge No. 53 IOOF and Post 112 American Legion. This also coincides with Fish N.H. Free Day, so after 11:30 a.m. adults can fish without a license. We stock over 300 trout in the pond and traditionally the youth catch 60 to 90 during the derby. The remaining trout are fair game open to public fishing throughout the year.

■Story times at the Epsom Library will take place Mondays at 10 a.m., Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m.

■Memory Café takes place Monday from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the library.

■Bone Builders will meet on Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the library.

■Mahjong continues to be played Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m.

■The Knitters club will meet Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the library.

■Toddler time at the library takes place on Wednesdays at 10 a.m.

■Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. the cribbage boards will be set up for those who play and for those who want to learn to play.

■Don’t miss the annual Elwood O. Wells American Legion Post 112 Memorial Day Celebration on May 27 to honor all veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. The event will be held at 1044 Short Falls Road. Services at outlying cemeteries include a bugler, prayers to remember the fallen, gun salutes, and flowers starting at 7:15 a.m. at the New Rye Cemetery, proceeding to the Center Hill Cemetery, and the McClary Cemetery. Next, indoor services at the Post begin about 9:30 a.m. Be there about 9:15 for a seat. Military selections will be performed by the famous Epsom Town Band. There will be presentations of awards for essay contest winners from Epsom and Chichester schools. An honored guest will speak. Then we will form a parade to the River and then on to the Short Falls cemetery, to honor our fallen comrades. Finally, we will adjourn back to the post to enjoy a free hot dog luncheon provided by the town of Epsom and prepared and served by Post 112 members. This year is special as it marks the 100th year of the American Legion.

■Elks Lodge 1210 will be in charge of the Flag Day retirement ceremony this year and that has not been scheduled as yet. Post 112 and the Boy Scouts will be participants. People can drop off their non-serviceable flags at town hall, the library or post office before June 10.

■Save the dates for July 15 to 26 for Epsom swimming lessons at the Pittsfield Town Beach.

The advertised times will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 31 to June 2. Individual registration is $7, group or multifamily locations pay a $12 registration fee, and have an enhanced listing, nonprofits are free. You must register to set up in Dustin Park for $7. ■“A Shining Light,” the First Congregational Church’s annual patriotic concert, is set for May 31 at 7 p.m. at the church, 24 Main St. It will feature the Chancel Choir, JuBellation Handbell Choir and other musicians. ■At the Senior Center on Thursday at 10 a.m., play Hawaiian-themed Bingo. You are welcome to wear something Hawaiian, including a Hawaiian shirt, grass skirt, etc. There will be a Hawaiian punch served.

■The Conservation Commission will meet on Thursday at 7 p.m. at town hall.

■On Thursday at 6 p.m., the Pittsfield School District is hosting a school safety forum in the PMHS lecture hall. The forum will provide an opportunity for discussion on the state of school safety with school officials and emergency responders, and to review the policies and procedures the school district has in place to keep students, families, and community members in our schools safe.

■Footwork Friday’s are back! On Friday mornings, PES students in first- to sixth-grade are encouraged to walk to school. The group meets at Family Dollar between 7:15 and 7:45 a.m.

■The Pittsfield Beautification Committee will be selling plants at 42 Tilton Hill Road during the three days of the Town Wide Yard Sale from May 31 to June 2. They are welcoming new members to the committee – if you are interested, please stop in.

■The concerned veterans of Pittsfield will be holding a Memorial Day observance on May 26 at the Veterans Memorial, located in Dustin Park, on Main Street at 1 p.m. Veterans and community organizations are invited to participate in this event.
