On March 12, Epsom voters will have several contested positions to weigh in on when they cast their ballots. One contest that is of great importance is that of the road agent. This year we have the choice of two very qualified candidates asking for your support on election day.
I will be supporting the re-election of Gordon Ellis for this position. I am supporting Gordon because I have seen the progress he has made on our road network over the past 10 or more years. Under Gordon’s stewardship, many town roads have been upgraded from gravel to pavement and the gravel roads have been greatly improved from the condition they were in when he first took the helm.
He has overseen the construction of a new salt shed and a maintenance shop at a cost that is a fraction of what taxpayers in most N.H. towns have paid to build their facilities. Gordon is frugal with our hard-earned tax dollars and is always seeking a way to do a good job at a reasonable cost.
Is Gordon perfect? Certainly not, and he and I disagree on certain aspects of how our roads are maintained, but I have never questioned his dedication to do the best job possible for the residents of Epsom.
I hope that you will join me in supporting Gordon Ellis on election day.
