Grieved by Rep. Noble’s words

The words Kristen Noble typed in a recent group chat has everyone talking. I want to make it clear, her words do not reflect the opinions of most Republicans or conservatives (at least the ones I’ve talked to). I read the comments in the group chat and then her follow up statements and was mortified.

I am appalled that any politician/human would say “we can have the fun stuff” with “segregated schools.” I would not want a Republican-run school! Having politically segregated schools in our neighborhoods would decimate the integrity of our communities. We, as a society, already struggle with division and the inability to communicate through our differences. Suggesting segregated schools is extremely short sighted and harmful to all of us. I am saddened to see that is what is in her heart and mind.

We are a home educating family, meaning we choose not to use the public school system and pay for it on our own. However, in no way are most of us “self segregating” for “decades” due to her list of issues. Thankfully, we have the right and freedom to choose how to educate with what works best for our kids. We gladly work, eat, play and communicate with other people, regardless of what educational pathway (or political leanings) we each have chosen โ€” we are not segregated from them.

I hope that Rep. Noble can see how harmful her words are to the people of New Hampshire. She has done a great disservice to the office and to her constituents as the attitude she displayed and defended is divisive and inflammatory and just plain wrong.
