A Concord woman was among those involved in a crash Wednesday night after a New Jersey man drove on the Spaulding Turnpike while impaired, setting off a series of collisions that closed the highway for four hours.
Shortly after 10:30 p.m., Corissa Babineau, 21, of Concord, was driving her 2007 Chevrolet Impala on Route 16 when a 2004 Toyota Sienna minivan crossed the center median and struck her vehicle near Exit 17 in Milton, according to New Hampshire State Police.
Police identified Deivid Aquino De Oliveira, 40, of Newark, N.J., as the driver behind the wheel of the minivan. Babineau was not hurt in the collision, but both vehicles were damaged in the head-on crash.ย
De Oliveira didnโt stop and fled southbound on the Spaulding Turnpike, according to State Police.
Just three minutes later, troopers were called to a second crash near the Cross Road overpass in Rochester involving three vehicles, including De Oliveiraโs minivan.
According to police, De Oliveira again crossed the center line, this time crashing head-on into a northbound 2019 Toyota Corolla driven by Ryan Moriarty, 44, of Milton.

The impact caused the minivan to spin while Moriartyโs vehicle rolled over before both came to rest in the northbound lanes.
The third vehicle, a 2018 Jeep Compass driven by Hayley Cartier, 32, of East Wakefield, was also damaged.
De Oliveira and Moriarty both suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Cartier was not injured.
During the investigation, troopers said De Oliveira showed signs of impairment. He was arrested at the hospital and charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence of drugs or liquor and reckless conduct, along with misdemeanor counts of vehicular assault and conduct after an accident.
Police said De Oliveira was released on personal recognizance bail so he could continue receiving medical treatment.
He is scheduled to appear in Rochester District Court on June 1.
The Spaulding Turnpike was closed in both directions between Exit 16 in Rochester and Exit 17 in Milton before reopening around 2:35 a.m.
