David Bonner

Concord, NH – David Paul Bonner, born June 10, 1952, a larger than life figure passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026. His final week was filled with family, friends, and farewells.

Born and raised in Concord, Dave lost his mother at just five years old, something he carried quietly and with grace his entire life. It shaped an enormous capacity for love that he gave generously to everyone in his orbit.

Dave loved sports, music, and theater, and lived his life fully in all three. He was a proud Army veteran who treasured his time stationed in Germany. He was, by nearly universal agreement, everybody’s favorite mail carrier in Concord, delivering not just mail but warmth, one-liners, and genuine human connection people remember for a lifetime.

He met the love of his life, Paula, on a blind date in the 1970s. Together they raised three children in Concord: Matt, Becky, and Luke, all standout students who earned basketball scholarships and went on to play professionally. Dave would insist we mention they were “wicked smart” first.

What defined Dave most was simply the way he made people feel. Any room he walked into, a spotlight turned on. People didn’t just like Dave Bonner. They loved him. Anyone who met him never forgot him.

He is survived by his wife Paula; son Matt and his children EV, August, and Elora; daughter Becky, her husband Will LeBas, and their son Waylon; and son Luke, his wife Kara, and their children Cedric, Cambria, and Caela.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, May 17 at the Concord High School gymnasium, doors open at 10:00 a.m. Burial is Monday, May 18 at 9:00 a.m. at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303.
