Where’s the outrage?
During the four years President Biden was in the White House, the Republicans couldn’t stop talking about Hunter Biden’s laptop and influence peddling. They subpoenaed him to testify before Congress and when he showed up and refused to a “private closed door” hearing, they backed down. Hunter pleaded guilty to nine federal counts and paid the taxes he owed of $1.4 million. The DOJ was still pursuing the charges of drug and gun possession.
Today there seems to be no Republican outrage over the President, his family, cabinet members and advisors peddling influence and inside information. Not one hearing or requests for Don Jr., Eric, JD, Miller or others to appear and explain how they aren’t exploiting their position. We don’t need a laptop to see money changing hands, access to foreign markets, special crypto purchases, insider trading on futures, etc. They don’t even try to hide what’s going on because to them it’s business as usual.
For months, Trump has been demanding the DOJ the federal reserve chairman Jerome Powell for cost overruns on the rehab of the Fed building. Yet Trump tells the National parks to use a “pool guy” he knows to paint the reflecting pool with a no bid contract. Original cost according to Trump $3.1 million now stands at close to $13 million and it’s not done yet.
If this were happening in another country, we would call it a banana republic and we’d be right.
