Concord, NH – Panagiotis “Peter” Kapos, 80, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, following a brief battle with cancer.
Born on November 14, 1945, in Athens, Greece, Peter immigrated to the United States in 1971 in pursuit of the American dream. He settled in southern New Hampshire, where he built a life defined by hard work, dedication, and love for his family.
Peter began his career working at his brother, Michael’s, salon in Concord. It was there that he met the love of his life, Michelle, in 1973. They married in 1974 and shared 48 wonderful years together, building a family and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Also in 1974, Peter purchased Michael’s salon, which became Peter’s Unisex, and later became Peter’s Images Unlimited. For more than 50 years, he built a remarkable reputation as a talented hairstylist, successful business owner, and trusted friend to generations of clients. His salon was more than a business, it was a place where people gathered not only for a haircut, but also for laughter, conversation, and Peter’s unmistakable warmth.
Above all else, Peter treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who never hesitated to put the needs of those he loved before his own. He found great joy in the outdoors, spending countless hours gardening, tending to his flowers, and relaxing beside his pool. His strong work ethic was something he instilled in his children, who take deep pride in the story of their father’s journey from modest beginnings in Greece to the beautiful life he built in the United States.
Peter had an unforgettable personality. Proud of his Greek heritage, he was often the loudest voice in the room, filling every gathering with laughter, stories, and joy. He had a gift for making people smile and leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be remembered for his generous heart, infectious laugh, unwavering kindness, and the unconditional love he gave so freely to his family and friends.
Peter is survived by his son, Alexander Kapos and his wife, Jacquelyn; his daughter, Jasmine Trudel and her husband, Timothy; his beloved grandchildren, Dominic, Nikko, Eleni, and Seraphina; his brother, Michael Kapos; his niece, Maria Kapos and her husband, Calvin; his nephew George Kapos and his wife Tawnya; his niece Maria Kapos-Menihtas, as well as numerous cousins, nephews, and extended family in Greece.
