Parker Tirrell

Over the past two years, the story of Parker Tirrell has tugged harder on my heart strings than any other story run in the Concord Monitor. I am grateful to our local paper for covering this story, though I feel chagrined there was a story to be covered.

I want to acknowledge and thank Sara Tirrell for her advocacy on behalf of her daughter, including her recent My Turn explaining the painful journey her child has endured since 2024. In my opinion, Parker is lucky to have been born into such a wonderful, courageous and accepting family.

To Parker: Do not despair. You are entitled to be loved, respected and accepted for who you are. There are surely countless people like me, who you do not know and have never met, who are pulling for you.
